About Me

Living in a variety of settings with my family, I have always been very analytical in distilling down our vitally important criteria to make sure the next house we purchase has what it takes to become a home we all love. I take great pride in also getting to know my clients and friends to best understand what is important to them in their real estate search. I am extremely resourceful and will work tirelessly to make sure I have left no stone unturned in the quest to find the perfect real estate match. Whether you are a transplant to the area, a life long Carolinian or a friend looking to make your next move, I would love to guide you in the search for your next special place.

Growing up in Bloomington, Indiana I spent my childhood cheering for the Indiana Hoosiers, raising a variety of animals, hiking down to our family creek, and building things with my dad. From small pieces of furniture to a guest house, my dad taught me to work hard, but to approach each project one board and nail at a time. I took a lot of pride in seeing our hard work pay off in the finished products we created together.

I left Indiana for New Hampshire at an early age to attend boarding school at Phillips Exeter Academy. I extended my New Hampshire stay by attending Dartmouth College where I double majored in Government and Asian Studies. I was fortunate to study abroad in China twice, intern in the White House, and also work at Sotheby’s Auction House in New York City.

While working at Andersen Consulting in the Boston area, I met my husband Nick. Traveling to consulting projects around the world was both exciting and rewarding for us. We learned so much from our host countries and we valued learning what made each country we visited special. Everywhere we went we collected pictures, books, and mementos, and we also made new friends.

During those years of travel, Nick and I discussed what we most valued. As a New Englander, Nick valued the ocean, sports and great food (with a name that means “Eat Bread” in Italian, food is definitely critical). Coming from the Midwest and the Northeast, I valued green space, friendly people, lakes and education. When we visited North Carolina... and Davidson in particular, we knew we had found “home.” We have loved raising our three sons in the Lake Norman area. You’ll often find us cheering them on at tennis tournaments around this beautiful state. Our oldest son recently began his college journey in Chapel Hill and though we have lived in North Carolina for a long time, we are so thrilled to officially be a Tar Heel Family.

Being a Realtor is the perfect combination of all of my interests and strengths, and I love it. I understand the small details that can make a home really fit a family. I am excited daily to take advantage of the rich resources available to me, the collaborative network of Helen Adams Realty agents and my innate desire to help my clients and friends to find or create their perfect home, “a board and nail at a time,” as my dad taught me.

Rachel understood our needs and was able to find a great investment property for us in another town. I’m this extremely competitive sellers market, I don’t believe we would have found, offered and closed on a home without Rachel’s extensive research and due diligence. I highly recommend working with Rachel whether you are looking in Davidson, Lake Norman, Charlotte... Read More

Rachel was fantastic from the start. We headed out to look at properties as soon as I got in touch - and when I found the perfect place, she gave me excellent advice, especially when it came to making the offer and deciding on terms of purchase. I would not have gotten the house if I had not followed her advice, as there were 3 full priced offers that day! Honestly I... Read More
